Supplies:
  • Favorite Findings™ Christmas Buttons: #534, #1436, #1437
  • Fabric: ¾ yard red pattern, ¼ yard each three green patterns, scraps of another red pattern
  • White tea towel
  • White pot holder
  • 1 ¼ yard iron on fabric fusible web
  • Fabric glue
  • Ribbon: 3 yard x 1 ½” wide red/white stripe grosgrain, 1 ½ yard x ⅛” lime green satin, 12 ¼” dark green satin
  • 24” green ball fringe
  • 40” jumbo white rick rack
  • Embroidery floss: white
  • Needle
  • Circle template
  • Oval template
  • Pencil
  • Ornament patterns
  • Fabric scissors
  • Ruler
  • Sewing machine
  • Sewing thread: white
  • Iron

Instructions:
Hot Pad:
  1. Trace and cut out a circle of red print fabric (on fusible web) to fit front of hot pad. Trace and cut out short ornament of green fabric, 2” circle of a second green fabric and 2 ½” oval of a third green fabric.
  2. Iron all in place.
  3. Make a stack of buttons: large pomegranate round, large snowflake, small spruce round. Make another stack: small pomegranate, small snowflake. Stitch button stacks to hot pad. Add a single small pomegranate button.
  4. Cut 8” of lime green ribbon. Tie a bow. Stitch at neck of ornament.
  5. Cut 10” of stripe ribbon. Knot to pot holder loop.
Tea Towel:
  1. Measure and cut red fabric 5 ½” x 9 ½”. Iron all edges under ½”. Stitch to bottom center of towel.
  2. Trace and cut out a long ornament of green fabric, a 2” circle of red and a 1” x 2 ½” rectangle of a different green fabric. Iron in place.
  3. Make a button stack: large spruce and large snowflake. Stitch in place. Add a single pomegranate button.
  4. Cut 8” of lime green ribbon. Tie a bow. Stitch at neck of ornament.
  5. String floss through both buttonholes of large pomegranate button. Stitch at center point of bottom of towel, allowing button to dangle. Knot and trim floss ends. Repeat with medium pomegranate buttons 1 ½” to either side of large button.
  6. Stitch rick rack to bottom of towel. Fold ends of rick rack under and wrap around back of towel at each side.
Apron:
  1. Measure and cut a 15” x 24” of red fabric. Finish all edges by folding under and stitching.
  2. Trace, cut and stack the following:
    • Long green ornament, 1” x 3” red rectangle, 2” green circle
    • Short green ornament, ½” x 3” red rectangle, 2 ½” green oval, 1” green circle
    • Small round green ornament, 1” x 1 ½” red rectangle, 1” green square
    • Small green round ornament, ⅜” x 2” red rectangle, 1 ¼” green circle
    • Small green round ornament, 1 ¼” green circle, ½” x 1 ½” red rectangle
    • Iron in place
  3. Glue lengths of dark and lime green ribbons in place as hangers.
  4. Make 5 stacks of buttons using remaining buttons as desired. Stitch in place. Add single buttons.
  5. Cut two 8” lengths of lime green ribbon. Tie into bows. Stitch at necks of large ornaments.
  6. Center remaining striped ribbon on top of apron. Stitch in place across both white stripes.
  7. Stitch ball fringe across top surface of bottom of apron, folding ends under at each end.
  8. Stitch rick rack on top of ball fringe. Wrap to back side of fabric at each end.
Tips:
  • Refer to photo for placement and assembly.
  • Embellish and restyle a pre-made holiday apron if desired.
  • Iron ¼ yard of each fabric to the fusible web following package instructions.
  • Follow package instructions to fuse fabric to towel, pot holder and apron.
